Monday, September 05, 2005 We Are The World It has been surprising and pleasing to see that many nations of the world have donated money and offered services to the US on behalf of Hurrican Katrina victims such as Canada or Bangladesh. Kuwait, Qatar, Afghanistan, and numerous other nations have offered very large donations as befits their wealth or simply small ones meant to illustrate their compasssion despite their poverty. I had expected the world to sit on their wallets since they tend to say America is so rich it doesn't need any help. That's true, but the gesture of giving to help us is touching.
