Today's Quote:

At least two-thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity: idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religous or political ideas.

Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963)

That seems a reasonable observation, but it's false at the very heart of it. Where does all that human stupidity and malice actually spring from - diseased souls. Heal the souls and the meanness will cease.

And most misery and malice come from people who are simply mean to others for no other reason than a desire to revenge themselves on others. Ask the children in the schoolyard why they hurt, taunt, and harass those weaker than themselves. It's not religion that makes them.
