Sacto Serenade

We haven't seen a lot of Arnold in Sacramento lately, but with his popularity falling, he's getting on the anti-illegal immigration bandwagon.

Too much is being made about the poll numbers falling on Arnold, though. Between elections or certain kinds of crises, people don't pay that much attention. Arnold's movie star status kept interest in him higher than normal and will continue to do so, but so far as people actually listening to him and fighting for his reform program, that's not going to happen.

Also, the attacks on Arnold by the Teacher's union, and various other state unions have been relentless and well funded. But the fact is, people just aren't paying attention, and when that happens the mice (Dems, pols) will play and spin the world further down.

The illegal immigration issue is a great one for California. The costs to the state are staggering, and people stay angry about it; along with the fact that we hate being called racists when we oppose felony criminal behavior, and the Dem attitude that somehow people from other countries have a right to sneak in here -- that this country also belongs to non-Americans. Boggles the mind, frustrates the hell out of us.

So, Arnold, ride that horse like you bought it new. And yes, do ask Bush why he won't do a thing to help.
