"Never Mind" - Emily Litella

I blogged some weeks ago about how German law insisted that unemployed women had to accept work as prostitutes or lose their benefits.

It turns out to be an urban legend explained here at Snopes.

I hate to be fooled, but it wasn't hard to believe that such was possible in Europe these days. You never know, anymore, if there is any morality left there.

Update

A reader at the Corner
says Snopes isn't accurate about the story; that it remains undetermined. Curiouser and curiouser.
