Monday, June 14, 2004 SCOTUS wimps out The Supreme Court reversed the "under God" ruling of the Ninth Circuit, but did so by finding that Newdow who sued to have that phrase removed from the Pledge of Allegiance didn't have standing to sue since he wasn't the custodial parent of his child. Three judges did add in their comments that "under God" itself was not constitutional, but adding Scalia who recused himself would make that group only four. Not a winning hand for God, so to speak. The Court simply set the stage for some other punk in the West to appeal to the Ninth Circuit again and get "under God" declared evil in the eyes of the State. via Drudge posted by Mark Butterworth | 11:45 AM | |
