Great minds think etc. . .

It was just yesterday or so when I was musing to myself about writing a blog about how Al-Qaida blew their best chance to do the greatest damage to Americans on our own soil.

If Osama had simply waited until they could get a nuclear weapon or two, some greater quantities of anthrax and saran gas or ricin, they could have done so much more to us. And been in place to unleash delayed and demoralizing devastations as follow ups.

After all, it wasn't like we were going to invade Afghanistan or Iraq any time soon, or get serious about North Korea, Pakistan, and so forth.

As bad as 9/11 was, it made it possible for us to avoid much worse, and get into the game of a real war against terrorists.

The Belmont Club, though, has a blog about a Memo to Osama which states exactly the same idea of mine and adds more insight, and description of the situation.
