Today's Quote:

You are not superior just because you see the world in an odious light.

Vicomte de Chateaubriand
(1768 - 1848)

This is very apt. We have all encountered various cynics, sarcasts (that's a new word), snobs, and "enlightened" people dripping in self-love mostly because they are infinitely superior in disdain toward others.

It is like all those liberals and lefties who despise the police as neanderthal state thugs, and soldiers as drooling, blood thirsty automatons; and never give thanks that they sleep soundly at night, secure in their homes because such people make their soft lives possible.

For a day ot two after 9/11, the elites found something momentarily exemplary in firemen and the police. But respect for manliness, courage, and service just doesn't last long when one's lofty intellect is free to abandon harsh reality for the topless towers of self-delusion and infinite egotism.
