Saturday, May 08, 2004 Does anyone else Browse Art on the Internet? Some lovely, romantic, Norman Rockwellesque, heavenly paintings at this site. Most are too sentimental and slight, but some are beautiful, and most are pleasing even though they are not magnificent. I have a weakness for the pretty and "nice". I prefer to look at very well wrought sentimental images than very sick, twisted, ugly, distorted "modern" images. The artists of the Ugly never break through to the Profound, whereas on many occasions a Pretty painter gets to heaven with his work. Once again, I must mention my friend, Matt Andrade, and his site.
