This Smut's for you!

Who says Hollywood hasn't got an agenda? Producers and directors are fighting to see that their movies go unfiltered into the eyes and ears of children and adults who don't want immoral images and words assaulting them.

"Wal-Mart is selling the world's first DVD player that can seamlessly skip over violence, swearing, nudity and other potentially offensive movie content.

Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh and other members of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) filed suit against ClearPlay in September 2002, when the filtering product was available as a computer program. "

The funny part is that movies are edited and filtered of offensive content for television with complete agreement from the movie studios.

It is also interesting that these directors actually believe that obscenity and gore are essential means of storytelling; that their films cannot effect the observer and make their point without disgusting the viewer.
