Today's Quote:

It is the dull man who is always sure, and the sure man who is always dull.

H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

I posted some years ago the truth that decent, moral, kind, truthful, faithful people are dullards in the eyes of the world. People who are devoted to being peaceful in their lives, and good to others are not contentious, chaotic, overwrought, compulsive, vituperative, sarcastic, glowering, vulgar, offensive, and insulting.

But peace, in the eyes of the conflicted, emotional, and irrational is odious.

(Well, Jesus did say, "I came not to bring peace, but a sword." But the goal of the struggle he advocates is peace -- "my peace I leave with you.")
